Why be a WAHPERD member??
WAHPERD member Charli Fluty has this to say:
"I am a WAHPERD member because I love the opportunity to connect and collaborate with the amazing physical education and health teachers from across the state. Many of the contacts I have made through the organization have become long distance colleagues who continue to help me grow as an educator. I believe in investing in our profession and WAHPERD does great work around Wyoming and across the nation."

Howdy Pards!
Hiking the hills, running the trails, and embracing the desert here in Sweetwater County! Literally and metaphorically we are constantly challenged by our surroundings. My name is Eric Urlacher, and one component of my profession that drives my purpose, is instilling a lifelong love of fitness and well being in the K-4th grade students I teach and the high school athletes I coach. My career is my passion and my mission and WAHPERD is critical in supporting me in these endeavors. Through our organization, we receive the tools to advocate and promote the importance of our profession to our administrators, communities, and state. WAHPERD also helps us continue to grow with professional development opportunities provided through state convention and workshops available to members. With this continual growth we develop into the best version of ourselves as a teacher.

WAHPERD membership-I don't recall when I joined WAHPERD, but it was a long, long time ago. Now I am retired and still belong. Why? It keeps me connected to what's going on and it keeps me involved with some of the most amazing people I know. I went from member, to "you ought to think about running for the board," to finding myself on the ballot, to being on the Board, to President (several times), to convention manager (several times) and no retiree. It has allowed me to grow professionally and make wonderful friends, not just in Wyoming, but in Central District as well. I have been to other state's conventions and our Wyoming convention ranks right up there with the big boys. For $30 a year, it is a bargain. Member-Gay Hughes
